Discover how, why, and where to volunteer. People Helping People is divided into easy-to-read chapters to explore a multitude of volunteering ideas, including a chapter on virtual volunteering and a chapter dedicated to teens. The author's experience as detailed in her past blog and shared in this guidebook lends heartfelt dedication and momentum. It concludes with a bibliography of more than 25 website links to further help make an informed decision. Essentially, it is a guide and reference to use when beginning or exploring the journey of volunteering in one's community. It is our call to action.

Past Reader Review on Amazon

“I especially liked the candid listing of rewards a person can find in helping others... making new friends, being a part of a community with others who share common interests and feeling better about because you're making a small difference in someone's life, or even the world…. inspiring and uplifting, yet very practical and down-to-earth.”

“This book made my heart full. I can’t quite describe how deeply it moved me. As the title suggests, it is about how we, as a society, can make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. True to its name, the book does exactly what it promises. It shows countless ways, small and big, in which we can bring change into someone’s life. From something as simple as a smile, to acts as meaningful as volunteering to take someone to the hospital, the message is clear: kindness matters.

The author shares many useful website links, especially for residents of Cincinnati, where she lives, but the essence of the book is universal. It is for anyone, anywhere, who believes in humanity and compassion.

For me, this book brought about a shift in perspective that I am genuinely grateful for. You can feel the heart, effort, and sincerity she poured into every page. It reminds you that there are countless beautiful ways to help others, many of which we overlook in daily life. This is a book that will stay on my Kindle forever.”

People Helping People received a Readers' Favorite 5-star review.

“Elle Mott knows how great the need is to help others. She used to be needy. As a result of her transformed life, she now volunteers to help others. In People Helping People: Volunteer Ideas and Resources to Make Positive Impact in our Communities, she shares the need, the resources, and methods of helping those living in poverty.

Homelessness is a major problem in the US. What many people don’t realize is that there are just as many and probably more who are not homeless but are only one paycheck away from becoming homeless. This book is a superior resource for anyone who desires to volunteer to make a difference and an impact on those in need in their community. The resources Elle shares are invaluable. The ideas on how to help should get your volunteer juices flowing. The methods are varied enough so anyone can help. This is an excellent book.

People Helping People is written with you in mind…. This book gives ideas of how you can help even if you have no money with which to help…. Elle also knows the value and has written this book to encourage you to become part of the vital group of volunteers in your community. Elle writes from experience. She writes in clear, simple English. Her desire is to spur you into action. If you have ever thought you would like to help those in need, this is the book for you.”
